Essence of Meena
We are a community mainly found in Rajasthan and claim descent from Matsya Avatar, the fish incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Scholars still are not sure as to whether we are an indigenous tribe or migrated to the region from Central Asia. Traditionally aristocrats and landlords, we have taken up other professions and kept pace with the changes in society.
